What is the current thinking about how you light a pool deck? The code says the luminaires have to be 12' above the water or 5' from the edge. How do you deal with that if the screen cage is only 4' wider than the pool and less than 12' tall?
How do you deal with the receptacle requirement?

There are applications where those rules are modified. See 680.22(b)(3)or(4), and 680.22(a) for receptacles. But generally speaking, I agree, you’re correct.

If it is a new house and a new pool, you can't install the screen room with those dimensions around the pool and comply with article 680. The permit and plans should be rejected at plan review

The strange thing is I don't see anything in FBC424.2 (private swimming pools) that requires any lights at all. There are specific rules in 424.1 for commercial pools but I don't see anything for a private pool.
My pool is formed now and I see I can get the required clearances if I put lights in the 4 corners. If my wife gets her wish (huge cage) I won't even be close. The enclosure goes in on a separate permit and we haven't submitted that one yet. I was just curious about the lights because I see a lot of cages that don't have 5'+ from the pool wall. I assume they just aim a few 150 watt PAR lights from the house but that is not a very elegant way to do it.
