IAEI Minutes
March 7, 2001

The meeting was called to order by Ed Huntsberger on March 7, 2001 at the Holiday Inn in Palatka at 12:00 noon.

Present at the meeting were: John Griffin, Dallas Stratton, Mark Nechvatal, Jimmy Douglas, J.C. Patrick, Rick Taylor, William Thompson, Don Brindley, Sam Gerace, Ed Huntsberger, Joff Filion, Robert Friedman, Leo Wadeson, Taylor Sams, Dwight Wilkes, John T. Martin, Jim Lindahl, Carl Beaton, Dan Standish, Dennis Shepherd, Eric Brunn, Phillip Dunnington and Dan Carter.

John Griffin gave the invocation.

The minutes were approved as sent out.

Treasurer Report: Dallas Stratton reported we are solvent and all bills are paid.

Old Business: Don Brindley and Dan Carter reported the Division owns 40 1999 NEC analysis booked and 6 NEC code books (soft cover). The members voted to reduce the price to sell all the books. They are on sale for $20.00 and $40.00 respectively. Contact Don or Dan for your book. They will also be sold at the next IAEI meeting in April.

New Business: Don Brindley reminded everyone about the State Seminar at Naples in May. Contact Ed Huntsberger if you need an application for it.

Ed Huntsberger suggested we post an ad for our Division with the State Chapter to support their efforts in Naples for the Seminar. The vote was unanimous.

J.C. Patrick, chairman of the nominating committee with Jimmy Douglas and Carl Beaton. Offered up a slate of Officers for the next year. They are President, Jimmy Douglas, Vice-President, Ron Rowe, Secretary, Dan Carter, and Treasurer, Dallas Stratton. There was a motion to close the nominations and it was voted unanimously. J.C. Patrick also said their was two persons who had an interest in getting into the rotation for the State Chapter Officers. John Martin and Dallas Stratton both are on the executive committee with the State Chapter. J.C. Patrick said that we would have a run off ballot at the April meeting in Palatka. The IAEI By Laws will only allow inspector members in good standing to vote for this position. (Article VII Section 4).

Ed Huntsberger led a discussion on the upcoming Officer Installation Dinner. Ed formed a committee to check out locations for the event. The committee is Dwight Wilkes and Joff Filion. Last year was a lot of fun and a lot of prizes. Dwight Wilkes was a bed and breakfast Adventure as the Grand Prize.

Dwight Wilkes led a discussion about FP&L conferencing underground power poles with permanent underground service. Mark Nechvatal pointed out several flaws showing how it would not work with present county codes. The Division asked Dwight Wilkes to see if FP&L would come and talk with our group.
