IAEI Minutes
May 1, 2002
The meeting was called to order by Jimmy Douglas on May 1, 2002 at the Holiday Inn in Palatka at 12:00 noon.
Present at the meeting were: John Griffin, Dallas Stratton, Ed Huntsberger, Jim Lindahl, Carl Beaton, Mark Nechvatal, Phil Dunnington, Jimmy Douglas, J.C. Patrick, Ron Rowe, John Martin, Taylor Sams, Bill Thompson, Don Brindley, Michael Timpanaro, E.W. Hollenbeck, Larry Carter, Tommy Underwood, Charles Crain, Stan DeAngelis, Joff Filion, Wayne Zeigler, Ernest Winfree and Dan Carter.
John Griffin gave the invocation; Jimmy Douglas led the Pledge of Allegiance. The minutes were approved as sent out.
Treasurer Report: Dallas Stratton stated all bills are paid and we are solvent.
Old Business: Joff Filion reported on the Officers Installation Dinner. The dinner will be on Saturday, June 22, 2002 at the ale Works Restaurant in St. Augustine across for the City Marina. There will be a reception hour starting at 6:30 pm and dinner at 7:30 pm. Gifts and door prizes are to be won and a good time is in store for everyone. When you R.S.V.P we need to know if you are bringing someone with you. We need to make sure there is dinner for everyone. Don Brindley reported that the State will not be on line for electronic delivery of ECU credits until later in the year. This means the State will only spot check for credit and you will then show proof that you have them. We will keep you posted.
Larry Carter asked Don Brindley if the course he presented to the State for approval has been approved. Don stated everything had been pre-approved and it would be accepted at the Board meeting on May 24th.
Jimmy Douglas had his 40th birthday this May 1, 2002 and was recognized for going over the hill.
Michael Timpanaro led a discussion on Pool alarms. ETL will soon have a standard with “Yard Guard”.
Don Brindley reminded everyone about the State Chapter seminar to be held in Destin on the 8th, 9th and 10th.
Jimmy Douglas passed around information on Insurance and older housing being brought up to today’s standards for future coverage.
New Business: Don Brindley stated that the 2002 NEC code will be accepted by the State except for (Chapter 80) as early as January or as late as July of next year.
Mike Timpanaro introduced a new product for pools called Aqua Bond”. Look for it. Also Mike passed out literature on pool wet niches and junction boxes that connect them. The information was a violation of 680.21B in the NEC. Be careful what you read.
