My suggestion would be to use the Calendar to announce meeting and event dates instead of the forum. You could setup e-mail lists to send reminders to subscribers this way also. The way I am setting up the Calendars right now is one for each Division and a master calendar that will display all of them.
This will give you the ability to view just a Division's events or all Division's events.
