Treasury Report: Dallas Stratton said all bills are paid and we are solvent.

Old Business: None

New Business: The Tack Committee presented code changes to the Commission and they were accepted as they were presented. The target date for the new code is January 1, 2005.
The North Florida Division will pay for everyone who attends the December meeting, as has been our tradition.
There was a discussion on Smoke Detectors. See Chapter 8 of NFDA 72 for locations inside and outside of bedrooms.
Another discussion was on the bonding of gas piping. The utility wants pipes bonded separately not relying on electric wiring. The gas codes say it shall be bonded to the grounding electrodes.
The manufacture of EMT compression fittings has information that these fittings are Not Raintight.
The next discussion was on shower fixtures: they need to be rated for damp locations, and does not have to be on a GFI, but check with the manufacturing instructions.
It was decided that NM cable couldn’t be used in flex on the outside because it is THHN and it is not rated for wet locations.

The next meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn in Palatka at 12:00 noon December 3, 2003.

Respectfully Submitted,

Daniel L. Carter
