IAEI Minutes
September 1, 2004
www.iaeifl.org Joff Filion called the meeting to order on, August 1, 2004 at the Holiday Inn in Palatka at 12:00 PM.
Present at the meeting were: John Griffin, Charles Crain, Dallas Stratton, Cliff Wilson, Bill Thompson, Joff Filion, Taylor Sams, Richard Davis, Phil Dunnington, Don Brindley, Wayne Zeigler, Ernie Winfree, Sam Gerace, David Chamberlain, and Alan Waters.
The minutes were approved as sent out; John Griffin gave the invocation and led The Pledge of Allegiance.
Treasury Report: Dallas Stratton said all bills are paid and we are solvent.
Old Business: A discussion was continued on retired members and their dues. A motion was placed on the floor that this chapter would pay the dues for retired members that have occupied an office either locally or nationally and are attending at least 50% of the meetings. The motion was seconded and accepted.
John Griffin brought in a copy of a portion of a dwelling to continue the discussion on smoke detectors. The portion in question was the sitting area in the Master bedroom. It was agreed that if this were a portion of the room none would be required.
New Business: Harold Law with the City of Sanibel is looking for some help. They need three temporary contract inspectors to work in the building department. Work assignments will be to aide in the relief of hurricane Charlie related repairs. If interested Fax your certification to Harold Law at 239-472-8826, you can contact Harold Law at 239-472-4555 or by E-mail harold.law@mysanibel.com
All other business was tabled until next month.
David Chamberlain with Fox-Rowden-McBrayer, Inc. gave a presentation on Cadweld items and their usage. It was an interesting and informative presentation showing us how a Cadweld works and what to look for in a good weld and in a bad weld. All present were given a card signifying we have been trained to make Cadweld connections. He also presented the new generation of Cadweld called Cadweld plus.
Joff Filion pulled Philip Dunnington’s name from the hat for the 50/50 draw. Lucky Philip.
The next meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn in Palatka at 12:00 noon October 6, 2004.
Respectfully Submitted,
Alan L. Waters
