Charles Crain called the meeting to order on, September 7, 2005 at the Quality Riverfront Inn in Palatka at 12:00 AM.

Present at the meeting were: John Griffin, Charles Crain, Jimmy Douglas, Jim Lindahl, Richard Davis, Phil Dunnington, Joff Filion, Cliff Wilson, Edwin Garcia, Dwight Wilkes, Wayne Zeigler, Don Brindley, Andrew Schirmacher, Doug Derousie, and Alan Waters.

The minutes were approved as sent out; John Griffin gave the invocation and led The Pledge of Allegiance.

Treasury Report: Dallas Stratton was absent Charles Crain reported all bills are paid and we are solvent.

Old Business: Cliff Wilson had asked the body about a job he has been working on where he has a combination meter can with space for two independent 200 amp breakers serving one 400 amp main lug panel. The conscience was that according to NEC 240.8 that if the unit was listed for such use it would be permitted, however the equipment was not listed. Cliff agreed that he would need and separate the feeders to two separate panels to meet code.

John Griffin brought up services and how far they could enter into a residence. It seemed that the question was directed at St. Johns Co. where Dwight Wilkes stepped in and answered. As far as St Johns Co. is concerned you can set a disconnect or connect back to back. The third option is too have the service conduit incased in 2” of concrete. It was agreed that a house-keeping pad would suffice.

New Business: Charles announced that at next months meeting we would need to vote on the acceptance of the by-laws. We will need and make decisions that customize the by-laws for our division. I.E. currently only an inspector member can hold an office above secretary. Although some divisions are allowing a Senior Associate Member to hold these offices if the by-laws are written as such. A senior associate member is an associate member in good standing for over 5 years. We will be selecting a Secretary and Treasurer ILO a Secretary/Treasurer. Also a vote will be brought about on the officers with pay vs. without pay.

Don Brindley announced that we now have 210 members up from 193 previous and that we are the only division to have increased membership. We do have approximately 20 members that are in arrears and a reminder will be mailed with the minutes.

There was some confusion concerning the calculated load request for permitting optional standby power systems. The counties that are asking for a calculation of load for auto transfer switch systems merely require a calculation on the connected load or the assigned load not the entire service.

Education: Time restraints did not allow.

Charles Crain pulled Cliff Wilson’s name from the hat to win the 50/50 drawing. Lucky Cliff. Cliff requested the funds be donated to the Red Cross. Thanks Cliff.

The next meeting will be held at the Quality Inn in Palatka at 12:00 noon October 5, 2005.
