Charles Crain called the meeting to order on, November 2, 2005 at the Quality Riverfront Inn in Palatka at 12:00 AM.

Present at the meeting were: John Griffin, Charles Crain, Jimmy Douglas, Cliff Wilson, Andrew Schirmacher, Doug Derousie, Dallas Stratton, Mark Nechvatal, Dwight Wilkes, Joff Filion, Edwin Garcia, Mike Timpanaro, Paul Hesson, and Alan Waters.

The minutes were approved as sent out; John Griffin gave the invocation and led The Pledge of Allegiance.

Treasury Report: Dallas Stratton reported all bills are paid and we are solvent.

Old Business: John griffin reiterated that inspectors should use more judgment during their inspections. That safety should sometimes out-weight code. Several inspectors agreed that sometimes it should but they are still bound by the NEC as a minimum code and that judgment calls if any should be left up to the individual inspector.

New Business: The room at the Quality Riverfront will not be available for the December meeting. We will instead hold the meeting at the:
San Mateo Seafood
480 South US Highway 17
San Mateo, FL. 32187
Directions: Heading South thru Palatka on US Hwy 17, go past the Quality Riverfront and over the St Johns River for approximately 4.25 miles. It should be about 7 minutes to San Mateo Seafood from the Riverfront Hotel.
Charles Crain has agreed for the Division to take care of the Bill for our customary Christmas Meeting.
The room at San Mateo Seafood is available from 11:30 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Dinners are served Ala Carte.

Dwight Wilkes commented on the progress of the Electrical TAC Committee. He stated that they asked when the 2005 NEC would be adopted and was told at the earliest it would be July of 2006 but would probably be more like October of 2006.

Mike Timpanaro reported that there had been an electrocution in Lake County. He told us that an appliance installer died when connecting the dryer vent the house. Apparently the dryer vent pipe had become energized due to the metal framing in the wall being energized. The metal framing became energized due to a screw installed to hold the cabinets to the wall piercing an electrical cable. He went on to say that a proposal has been submitted to the 2005 Building code and the 2008 NEC for a requirement to bond these metal studs.

Education: Education chairman was not present.

Charles Crain pulled Dwight Wilkes’s name from the hat to win the 50/50 drawing. Lucky Dwight.

The next meeting will be held at the San Mateo Seafood in Palatka at 12:00 until 1:00 December 7, 2005.
