January 4, 2006
www.iaeifl.org Charles Crain called the meeting to order on, January 4, 2006 at San Mateo Seafood in Palatka at 12:00 PM.
Present at the meeting were: John Griffin, Charles Crain, Don Brindley, Jimmy Douglas, Jim Lindahl, Mark Nechvatal, Phil Dunnington, Andrew Schirmacher, William McKinney, Dallas Stratton, Taylor Sams, Cliff Wilson, James Drummond, Dwight Wilkes, J. Lancaster and Alan Waters.
The minutes were approved as sent out; John Griffin gave the invocation and led The Pledge of Allegiance.
Treasury Report: Dallas Stratton reported that all bills are paid and we are solvent.
Old Business: The Riverfront Inn has not completed construction. It is planned to complete in mid February. We will keep you posted. Next months meeting will be held at San Mateo Seafood.
New Business: Jimmy Douglas brought in information on a Kitchen Power Grommet. A flush mounted pull up power strip. Information on this can be found at
www.mockett.com. Don Brindley is estimating that his CEU classes will be in June/July and they will cover all hours needed excluding the 2 hours needed for communication.
Charles Crain asked about putting electric outlets beneath countertops on outdoor kitchens near propane tanks. This item has been tabled until next month. Under-counter refrigerators where discussed as well. If it is outdoors it has to be on a GFCI per code but most agreed that they would accept it on a single device receptacle. Outdoor outlets NEC 210.8A3.
Dwight Wilkes recommended that we, in some instances should generate a Position Document. For instance above, our Division should create a letter stating that we would accept a under cabinet refrigerator at an outdoor kitchen on a single device outlet but not requiring it to be GFCI. That each situation that should arise an Ad Hoc Committee be charged with generating the document. A Chairman and 2 others could host the interpretation and be absolved upon completion.
J. Lancaster won the 50/50 draw, lucky J.
The next meeting will be held at San Mateo Seafood in Palatka at 12:00 noon February 1, 2006.
