Charles Crain called the meeting to order on, April 5, 2006 at San Mateo Seafood in Palatka at 12:00 PM.

Present at the meeting were: John Griffin, Charles Crain, Don Brindley, Jim Lindahl, Andrew Schirmacher, Joffre Filion, Brian Seay, Ron Rowe, Edwin Garcia, Cliff Wilson, Paul McMahon, Richard Davis, Taylor Sams, and Alan Waters.

The minutes were approved as sent out; John Griffin gave the invocation and led The Pledge of Allegiance.

Treasury Report: Dallas Stratton was absent but Don Brindley had spoke with him and reported that all bills are paid and we are solvent.

Old Business: The Riverfront Inn has not completed construction. It is planned to complete in mid February? We will keep you posted. Next months meeting will be held at San Mateo Seafood.

I wanted to remind everyone please send any code questions to Terry Baker at TBAKER@broward.org. He will be asking our questions in front of the code panel at the next meeting. Questions from electricians and inspectors in our area will take preference.

Membership remains at 212 members.

Last month we had tabled a conversation concerning Coffee shops and the like and whether GFCI protection would be required, all agreed that if it falls under the definition of a Kitchen GFCI would be required. Refer to 2005 NEC Definitions and 210.8(b).

New Business: Don Brindley has set the dates for the CEU courses in Marion County and for Jacksonville. I have included the flyers in the mailed minutes. Don also announced that the Preventing False Alarms Course has been included for this year.

The nominating Committee announced their nominations for the next years Board of Directors:
President-Richard Davis
Vice President-John Griffin (with the stipulation that he does not run as President for the following year)
Secretary-Alan Waters
Treasurer-Dallas Stratton
Education/Membership-Don Brindley
Nominations where then closed.

Education: Don Brindley Covered Article 680.8 thru 685.1 in the changes for the 2005 NEC.


Joff Filion won the 50/50 draw, lucky Joff.

The next meeting will be held at San Mateo Seafood in Palatka at 12:00 noon May 3, 2006.
