Charles Crain called the meeting to order on, May 3, 2006 at San Mateo Seafood in Palatka at 12:00 PM.

Present at the meeting were: John Griffin, Charles Crain, Don Brindley, Andrew Schirmacher, Joffre Filion, Cliff Wilson, Richard Davis, Taylor Sams, Jimmy Douglas, Phil Dunnington, Bill Smith, Jon Andreason, William McKinney III and Alan Waters.

The minutes were approved as sent out; John Griffin gave the invocation and led The Pledge of Allegiance.

Treasury Report: Dallas Stratton was absent but Don Brindley had spoke with him and reported that all bills are paid and we are solvent.

Old Business: The Riverfront Inn has not completed construction. And it appears we do not have a contract with them for this year, making it questionable if we will return. Joff has suggested a change of venue a German Restaurant in Downtown Palatka for next months meeting. It is called “Old Munich”. It is located in Downtown Palatka at 705 St. Johns Ave. Head into Palatka on HWY-17 and turn south on S 7th Street. One block over is St Johns Ave. Turn right and Old Munich is on your left. It’s a white building with a blue sign nestled between a 2 story tan stucco building and a single level brick one. Parking seems to be a premium you may have to walk a block or so. The restaurant is going to provide us with a buffet style dinner at $ 7.50 plus drinks and Tax.

The Registrations for the CEU courses for Jacksonville and Marion Co. where incomplete as sent out. Evidentially a portion at the bottom was cut off. I have included the correct copy. If you had contacted Don on where to send in your registration the portion that was left off will inform Don on which course you are signing up for, if that is the case please send in a copy of the corrected registration form to Don for his records. All others Please use the newer version. Pre-Registration is required. Sorry for any confusion. Don wanted to remind all attending that the course starts early so please be prompt.

John Griffin responded to a question from last month concerning painting wires. He referred us to Article 200.7 (c)(2) of the 2005 NEC. It is also the same wordage in the 2002.

New Business: A recommendation was made that with the cost of fuel skyrocketing that we look at bi-monthly meetings, this recommendation was revoked but the suggestion for carpooling was a good one.

Don Brindley made a motion and was seconded that John Griffin and Taylor Sams be named as Senior Associate Member the Board voted unanimously.

A motion was made to install the officers for the next term is as follows:

President Richard Davis
Vice President John Griffin
Secretary Alan L Waters
Treasurer Dallas Stratton
Education/Membership Don Brindley

All officers where sworn in excluding Dallas Stratton who was absent due to illness, he will be sworn in as soon as he returns.

Jimmy Douglas wanted to remind us that the state code conference in Naples Florida is upon us, best wishes to all attending.

Education Don read some questions and answers from the NEC digest.

The next meeting will be held at “Old Munich” Restaurant in Palatka at 12:00 noon June 7, 2006.
