Richard Davis called the meeting to order on, July 5, 2006 at the Old Muniche Restaurant in Palatka at 12:00 PM.

Present at the meeting were: John Griffin, Andrew Schirmacher, Richard Davis, Taylor Sams, Phil Dunnington, Dallas Stratton, Charles Crain, Fernando Gonzales, Jim Lindahl, William McKinney, Cliff Wilson, Mark Nechvatal, Jimmy Douglas, Brian Seay, Dwight Wilkes, Edwin Garcia, Ron Rowe, Robert Marvel, Joff Filion, and Alan Waters.
The minutes were approved as sent out; John Griffin gave the invocation and led The Pledge of Allegiance.
Treasury Report: Dallas Stratton reported that all bills are paid and we are solvent.

Old Business: Charles Crain submitted to the body a rough draft of the IAEI Codes & Standards Bulletin. This bulletin is to cover some confusion created by “Summer Kitchens”. Dwight Wilkes discussed the draft and asked for comments at the next meeting. The draft will be ratified at a later date. The committee also asked for suggestions on other electrically related items of concern, that they can start working on for future Bulletins. John Griffin suggested: kitchen receptacle layout distances from the sink, A/C disconnects and their clearances. Other suggestions are welcomed.

New Business: Phillip Dunnington discussed a job he was currently inspecting. The contractor had identified that the building was high voltage at the service with appropriate phasing colors but had reverted to low voltage colors on the branch circuits. Article 210.5(c) in the 2005 NEC is clear on the subject and not so clear under the 2002 version. It was agreed that the use of low voltage colors on a high voltage job is a safety issue and should not be allowed.

Dwight Wilkes shared that at the last FBC meeting the electrical TAC committee is reviewing the impact of the changes due to the Florida Energy Code. At their next meeting (6 Weeks) July 10/11 they will be discussing the growing requirements on generators.

The next meeting will be held at “Old Munich” Restaurant in Palatka at 12:00 noon August 2, 2006. 703 St Johns Ave. Hwy 17 into Palatka turn south on S. 7th Street 1- block to St Johns Ave turn right immediately on the Left.
