Richard Davis called the meeting to order on, October 4, 2006 at the Golden Corral Restaurant in Palatka at 12:00 PM.

Present at the meeting were: John Griffin, Taylor Sams, Dallas Stratton, Charles Crain, Cliff Wilson, Jimmy Douglas, Edwin Garcia, Joff Filion, Don Brindley, Dean Strickland, Mark Nechvatal, David Chelgren, Wes Colley, Robert Manuel, Joseph McGowan, Charlie Mini, Donald Schueter, Glen Brown, Wayne Zeigler, Mike McGonigle, and Paul McMahon.

The minutes were approved as sent out; John Griffin gave the invocation and led The Pledge of Allegiance.

Treasury Report: Dallas Stratton reported that all bills are paid and we are solvent.

Old Business: Mr. Colley gave a talk on Electric Council of Florida. Trying to restart a Jacksonville area Chapter. Dues are high at $155.00 per individual. Corporate rates are $250.00 with additional corporate members at $100.00. Associate dues are $25.00. Mr. Colley can be reached at 1-813-230-7481, IEAI West Coast Chapter.

New Business: Chapter 33 General Requirements of the Florida Building Code. Section E3302 Change text to read as shown: E3302.1 Metal Framing Members. Metal framing members shall be bonded to the equipment grounding conductor for the circuit that may energize the framing and be sized in accordance with the A National Electric Code Table 250.122. For the purpose of this section, a grounded metal outlet box attached to the framing shall be permitted. Bonding of metal stud changes are due to take effect December 1, 2006.


The next meeting will be held at the “Golden Corral” Restaurant in Palatka at 12:00 noon November 1, 2006.
