IAEI Minutes
January 3, 2007
www.iaeifl.org Richard Davis called the meeting to order on, January 3, 2007 at the Golden Corral Restaurant in Palatka at 12:00 PM.
Present at the meeting were: John Griffin, Dallas Stratton, Cliff Wilson, Jimmy Douglas, Edwin Garcia, Joff Filion, Don Brindley, Mark Nechvatal, Joe McGowen, Taylor Sams, Larry Hites, Richard Davis, Andrew Schirmacher, Wayne Zeigler, Kevin Morgan, Doyle Griffin, Donald Schlueter, Eugene Hernandez, Paul McMahon, Glenn Brown, Charles Crain, Dwight Wilkes, Robert Marvel, and Alan Waters.
The minutes were approved as sent out; John Griffin gave the invocation and led The Pledge of Allegiance.
Treasury Report: Dallas Stratton reported that all bills are paid and we are solvent.
Old Business: On the topic of bonding lugs attached to motors with nothing to be bonded, nothing connects. Note: the NEC says you need to provide a bond in case the motor is changed out and the replacement needs a bond…Article 680.
Smoke Alarms: NFPA 72 states that on an existing building that did not require interconnected smoke alarms when built does not require them provided there isn’t a remodel. This answers Cliff’s original question.
On the gas pipe bonding question one point of bonding is required providing that the system is continuous metal.
The question for equal potential bonding for swimming pools is still undecided. I would suggest after all has been hashed out that we create an IAEI Standards page.
New Business: Don Brindley reported we have 217 members.
Don Brindley won the 50/50 draw. Thanks for playing Don.
The next meeting will be held at the “Golden Corral” Restaurant in Palatka at 12:00 noon February 7, 2007.
