The minutes were approved as sent out; John Griffin gave the invocation and led The Pledge of Allegiance.

Treasury Report: Dallas Stratton reported that all bills are paid and we are solvent.

Membership Report: Don Brindley reported we have 215 members. And we are the only Florida Division to maintain its membership all the others are down in their members.

Old Business: Equal potential bonding was discussed again.

Most of the counties involved in the conversation have yet to make a decision. It was discussed that these counties should send in for a formal NFPA interpretation.

New Business: The 77th Annual IAEI Conference is slated for the 9th through the 12th of May 2007. Attached are two pages of information concerning this conference.

Don Brindley reminded us that as of January 1, 2008 all AFCI breakers will be required to be Combination AFCI Breakers. These breakers provide both series and parallel protection. They will be required for the same locations that the 2005 NEC states. The 2008 NEC reads very similar to the 2005 changes for the next code cycle are minimal.

Cliff Wilson asked about sizing service laterals installed by a contractor vs. the utility company and how to size them. It was agreed that up to 800 amps the wire should be sized per the calculated load and above 800 amps it should be sized per the breaker. Code sections sited during this conversation where: 230.30, 230.31A, & 240.4 (2005 NEC)

Fernando Gonzalez won the 50/50 draw. Thanks for playing Fernando.

The next meeting will be held at the “Golden Corral” Restaurant in Palatka at 12:00 noon March 7, 2007.
