New Business
Tarry made a motion that we set an order of priory if the division sends an officer to the Florida Chapter meetings. We would send the current President first, then the Secretary/ Treasurer, after that it would go to First Vice President, Second Vice President and Third Vice President. The motion was approved.
Good Of The Association
The fire alarm seminar we had in January went very well. Mark Ode from Underwriters Laboratory was the instructor and did a great job, especially considering his wife became ill and was hospitalized. We were pleased to hear that Mrs Ode, after undergoing surgery back in North Carolina is doing well.
We received lots of good reports on the Crystal Lake Country Clubs facilities we used for the seminar. Everyone we spoke to really liked every thing about the place. It was very comfortable, the staff was excellent and the food for lunch and breaks was delicious. Next year our division will hold an accessibility class and we will definitely try to arrange to have it at Crystal Lake.
On June 1, 2002 we will be having our annual golf tournament at the Crystal Lake Country Club. Anyone interested in playing or becoming an hole sponsor contact Jim Sennello at 954 480-4248. The golf tournament is always a fun event with a good time had by everyone.
The meeting was adjourned at 12:50 p.m. to the education portion of the meeting where Oriol Torres, Electrical Code Compliance Specialist, Miami Dade Building Code Compliance Department presented a class on Arc Fault Protection for bedrooms and Tarry presented a class on NEC articles 90-210. The attendance was 94 people for the day session and 30 people that night.
