Secretaries Report September 18, 2002
President Tarry Baker called the meeting to order at 12:08 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2002. Present were President Tarry Baker, Second Vice President Lee Wansor, Secretary/ Treasurer Ted Licitra, Past President Dave Cake, Directors Al Bostwick, Frank Crandon, Joe McCann and Jim Sennello Associates Dave Ampler, Gary Simon and John Sims.
The minutes of the last meeting and the financial report were read and approved.
Committee Reports
Education: Tarry reported that at the March 2003 meeting he will be presenting a class on safety, workmen comp and business. That will be a three hour class. Tarry also reported that the 2002 NEC should be adopted by the State in November with a effective date of March 2003.When we have a known adoption date our division can go forward with plans to hold a code change seminar maybe in the first part of 2003. See the attached page for questions that were discussed as part of the education part of the meeting. These are questions Tarry has received from inspectors and contractors .
Entertainment: Jim Sennello reported that the Crystal Lake Country Club which is where we hold our Divisions annual golf tournament and our the last seminar has been sold. Jim is looking into other facilities for a replacement.
Nomination: Dave Cake has been appointed chairmen of the nomination committee and will be contacting present board members to see if they wish to serve again in 2003. Dave will also be looking for new members who wish to serve on the board.
The board meeting was adjourned so the education portion of the meeting can be started. We had 93 people attend the meeting.
