Secretary’s Report November 19, 2003

President Lee Wansor called to order the last board meeting for the year at 11:50 am on Wednesday November 19,2003. Present at the meeting was President Lee Wansor, First Vice president Steve Mitchell, Second Vice-President, Jim Sennello, Secretary/Treasurer Ted Licitra, Past President Tarry Baker, Directors Al Bostwick, Dave Cake, Jack Fisher, Joe McCann, Jim Sugg, and Associates Ken Gilbert, Ken Kotrady, Gary Simon, John Sims and Ed Zymroz.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and along with the Treasurers report was approved.

Committee Reports

By laws: Nothing to report.

Legislature: Nothing to report.

Membership: Steve has access to the International’s web site and is working on getting letters out to all members whose membership has expired.

Public Relations: Nothing to report.

Accident and Sickness: We were saddened to hear that Len Welch a long time member of our division has passed away. Len worked for Broward County Building Department for many years.

Entertainment: The mail out for our Division’s annual Business meeting and installation of new officers will be going out shortly. Jim Senello reported that this years golf tournament will be held in early May at the Carolina Club. More details will be coming soon.

Scholarship: The scholarship committee will get together soon to discuss options for the scholarship for this year. Besides Broward Community College we are exploring the possibility of awarding a scholarship to one of the apprenticeship programs.

Nomination: The nominations for our Board of Directors for next year are President Steve Mitchell, First Vice President Jim Sennello, Second Vice President Frank Crandon, Third Vice President Al Bostwick, Secretary Treasurer Ted Licitra, and Past President Lee Wansor. Directors Tarry Baker, Bill Bender, Mickey Bray, Jack Fisher, Joe McCann, Pat Richardson, Jim Sugg and Associates Pat Christiano, Ken Gilbert, Jim Joesph, Ken Kotrady, Gary Simon, John Sims, John Somers and Ed Zymroz.

New Business: Nothing to report.

Florida Building safety Coalition: Steve reported that the FSBC has come out with a position against any movement by the State to adopt an International Residential Code. We believe the NEC is best suited for any residential or commercial applications and there is no need to adopt another code.

Good Of The Association: Nothing to Report.

Old Business: Ken Gilbert reported he is still working on the FPL after hours retap problem.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:15 p.m. The education this month was presented by Jim Dunlap from Florida Solar Energy. He had a 4-hour presentation on Photovoltaic Systems Tarry Had 71 attendees at the meeting.
