Secretary’s Report June 16, 2004

The meeting was called to order by President Steve Mitchell at 12:10 P.M. on Wednesday June 16, 2004 at the City of Coconut Creek City Hall. Present at the meeting was President Steve Mitchell, Third Vice-President Al Bostwick, Secretary/Treasurer Ted Licitra, Past President Lee Wansor, Directors Tarry Baker, Mickey Bray, Jack Fisher, Joe McCann, Jim Suggs Associates Ken Gilbert, Gary Simon, John Sims and Ed Zymroz.

The minutes and treasurers report were read and approved.

Committee Reports

By Laws: Nothing to report.

Legislature: Nothing to report.

Membership: Steve reported that membership is holding steady.

Public Relations: Nothing to report.

Accident and Sickness: We are saddened to hear that John Travers daughter has passed away. Our Division will send flowers to the family.

Entertainment: The golf tournament went well. Next year it will be held in October as so not to conflict with the Florida Chapter meeting we will be sponsoring in May.

New Business: A motion was made and approved to buy a full page ad in the upcoming Southern Sections program. Steve has been in touch with Gibbys restaurant pertaining to our annual installation of the Board of Directors banquet and meeting which will be held in January. The menu has changed slightly and prices per meal have gone up. A motion was made and approved for Steve to give a deposit to Gibbys for the luncheon.

Florida Building Safety Coalition: Nothing to report

Education: Tarry Baker reported that he has new course numbers for all his classes for the remainder of the year. Tarry talked about the education for next years Chapter meeting. Possible classes include ADA, AFC cable and Business and Workers Compensation. We will probably not have any break out sessions.

Good of the Association: Lee Wansor is retiring and moving out of State. Lee has been a fixture in our organization and around our community for many years and will be missed by all.

2005 Chapter Meeting: We hope to have a meeting with Terry Summerell shortly to review any items of the Chapter meeting of which we should be aware. Terry who is our Florida Chapter President was the head of the Palm Beach meeting which was held in May.

The meeting was adjourned so Tarry could start the education portion of the meeting.
