Secretary’s Report August 18,2004
President Steve Mitchell called the August meeting of the Maynard Hamilton Division to order at 12:05 p.m. at Coconut Creek City Hall. Present at the meeting was President Steve Mitchell, First Vice President Jim Sennello, Secretary/Treasurer Ted Licitra and Directors Tarry Baker, Bill Bender, Mickey Bray, Pat Richardson Jim Sugg, Associates Pat Cristiano, Gary Simon and Ed Zymroz.
The minutes and Treasurers report from last meeting were read and approved.
President Mitchell spoke on the progress of the upcoming Florida Chapter meeting, which our Division will be hosting in May 2005. Steve, Tarry Baker and I will be having a meeting with the hotel on Monday to discuss the menu and prices. We are looking at a registration fee of about $200 for the meeting. The meeting will be held at the Bahia Mar Radisson Hotel on Fort Lauderdale beach. On the Thursday night during the meeting we will hold a cocktail party waterside with entertainment as a good possibility.
Under New Business Steve Mitchell suggested the Division start an award for retired members who have provided meritorious service to our industry and our organization. To be called the Directors Award it will be presented at our annual meeting in January. Nominees can be submitted to the Board of Directors for consideration from any member of our Division. Nominees for the award this year will be Tom Bray, Maynard Hamilton, Jim Jackson and Lee Wansor.
Good of the Association: Bill Bender thanked everyone for attending Lee Wansor’s retirement party.
Code Clearing: Jim Sennello asked about arc fault protection in closet and hall areas inside bedrooms. The consensus was that all circuits inside the bedroom door up to the bathroom shall have arc fault protection.
The meeting was adjourned about 1 p.m. so Tarry could start the education portion of the meeting.
Respectfully Submitted
Ted Licitra
Secretary/Treasurer
