This old house I just moved into has no ceiling boxes for me to install a ceiling fan, since I can't sleep without one, Im attempting to wire one in myself. I was told at a local Home Depot, that I can buy wire moulding and run wire from the switch to the fan, how is this possible? Will the ceiling fan work and not overpower the circuit breaker? I have no experience with electrical stuff, please help...thanks, oh, and the switch to the rooms I want to add a fan to, those switchs turn off & on a wall socket.

First things first. The wiremold box would need to be rated to support the fan. There are special boxes listed for fans. A normal box is not listed.
