Lately when I click on a topic my computer will flicker, show the topic and then go to a blank screen.I have to hit the back button and try again.Sometimes I will have to do this 4-5 times before the topic will open. This is the only forum I follow where this happens.Has something changed that may be causing this problem?

I have the same problem with my home computer on AOL. It does not seem to happen here at my work. I tried e-mailing the webmaster with the issue awhile back but it never got cleared up.

I was never able to duplicate Bryan's problem but it must have something to do with some setting or software. Such as what web browser, virus software ,firewall or operating system used.
Have you updated or added any software lately. Or have you changed any settings?

Or it could be a server problem that happens at the time you are visiting the site. When do you typically go online?

Another possibility is the cookies used with this forum keeps track of who you are and what topics are new. The cookie file is located on your computer and may be corrupted or may be blocked by your security system.
Try reseting your cookies by entering The my profile link.
select the delete all cookies option. This will erase the cookies set by this forum.
You will need to login again with your name and password. This will rebuild the cookie. Also all posts will appear as new posts. So go back to the my profile link at the top right and select
"Update New Post Indicators " option. This will set all posts as if they were all read already.

Try this option for the cookies and let me know if that solves the problem. If not give me some info on what software and versions you use and what time you typically go online.

I don't think the cookies would be the issue.I have two different computers that I use to go online. One in my office that I use during the day and a laptop I use at night. Both have the same problem.I checked this topic at lunch time and it took 6 tries to get on.This time I got the topic in only two tries with the same computer.
I have Bellsouth DSL and McAfee. Both of which I have had for several years.
We did have to call Bellsouth several months ago because of a problem but I do not remember if this coincided with what is happening now.

What time do you usually log on?
I am going to try two items one at a time.
I just changed one setting that disables an optimizer for this board. Bell south has a built in pop up catcher that may think the optimizer is a pop up.
Let me know if that makes any difference on one or both of your computers before I try the next item.
Also what windows version do you use and what browser and version?

I log on at various times during the day.The web browser is Internet Explorer.I have Windows 2000 and Windows XP Professional on the computers.
Whatever you did seems to have worked.I tried both computers and was able to open the topics with my first try. Thanks!

Lets give it a few days to be sure and let me know. I emailed Bryan to see if this solves his problem too.
Due to the low volume of this board I don't think the optimiser being disabled will show a impact on performance.

It appears the problem has been corrected. I was able to open topics without any problems after receiving your E-mail. Thanks!
