FYI: The first comment period for the 2007 FBC code changes ends on February, 28th. There appears to only be five proposed modifications that pertain to the electrical industry.

There are three separate but similar proposals for CO alarms in single family dwellings. The one submitted by me is Number 1995/1996.

Leonard Devine from Palm Beach County submitted two proposals, #2729 and #2728.

#2728 would require "service conductors" to have a calculated voltage drop of not greater than 2% as currently required for feeder conductors in 13-413 of the FBC.

#2729 would require the smoke alarms installed within a dwelling to be energized when an optional standby system activates or is activated during a power outage.
