Minutes of the April 26, 2006 Meeting


The April meeting of the Gulf Coast Division was called to order by President of the Building Officials Association of Florida, Vince LaPorta. The meeting was held at the International Super Buffet in Port Charlotte. There were 51 members and guests present. After the pledge, all members and guests introduced themselves.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as written.
The Treasurers report was approved as read.
Today’s meeting was a combined Building Officials Association of Florida and IAEI meeting. We met on the Building Officials Association of Florida scheduled day, so we let them conduct their business. Mr. Nick Sasso, from DBPR was scheduled to speak at the meeting today, but was unable to attend. After Building Officials Association of Florida conducted their business, the IAEI took over the meeting. I gave an update on the upcoming state chapter meeting coming up May 10-13 in Naples. We talked about 2008 NEC proposals. We also announced that Generac would be at our May meeting and give a presentation. Bryan Holland then went over some proposals for the NEC.
This was all we had time for at today’s meeting.
We will try and reschedule Nick Sasso for our June meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:00 P.M.
