www.iaeifl.orgDallas Stratton called the meeting to order on, July 11, 2007 at the Golden Corral Restaurant in Palatka at 12:00 PM. Jimmy Douglas led us in Prayer & the Pledge.
Present at the meeting were: Dallas Stratton, Cliff Wilson, Jimmy Douglas, Edwin Garcia, Don Brindley, Mark Nechvatal, Joe McGowen, Richard Davis, Charlie Mini, Jim Lindahl, Don Schlueter, Glenn Brown, Fernando Gonzalez, Charlie Grebe, Wayne Zeigler, Larry Hites, Mike Brooks, Luther Kennett, Joff Filion, Greg Ferrone, and Alan L Waters.
Treasury Report: Dallas Stratton reported that all bills are paid and we are solvent.
Old Business: Jimmy Douglas presented Richard Davis with a plaque in appreciation for service as President for last term. Thanks Richard!
Don Brindley and myself where not present at last months meeting and where swore in as officers for this next term.
New Business: A motion was made to suspend the approval of June’s minutes until they are sent out.
Don Brindley passed some photos around of some electrical violations from his recent trip to Costa Rica.
Don reported the 2008 NEC code books have not went into print as of yet.
Jimmy Douglas reminded the body that we are putting on the 2008 State Seminar at the Omni Hotel in Jacksonville. Dallas Stratton the Seminar Board Chairman said he has a few people in place to help with various functions but that we are in need of more volunteers. Please contact Dallas if at any level you would be able to help.
Cliff Wilson asked the body about an apparatus he has seen for converting existing panels for an addition of a second main and the apparatus to be used as a mechanical lock out for the addition of an alternative power source. All asked about the listing…Edwin Garcia offered to bring some information to the next meeting.
Don Brindley read out of the NEC Digest concerning buried conductors and conduit and the proposed changes for the 2008 NEC.
Jimmy Douglas asked if any other County has been approached by Publix food stores in reference to the addition of Generator systems. Apparently they plan on putting these in State wide.
Education & Membership: CEU SEMINAR: The North Florida Division, IAEI & Gordon "Don" Brindley
Education are not planning on having any Continued Education Seminars during this off year of Contractor License Renewal, due to the lack of interest shown in the
Past; if there are Inspectors that need hours this year and you can get a group of 10 or more, Don said he would work something out for you, Contact him at gdonbrind@aol.com or 352-489-6551.
CEU SEMINARS will be held next year, either at The North Florida Division's sponsored, Florida Chapter IAEI Annual Meeting and Seminar, which will be held in May in Jacksonville, Florida at the Omni Hotel or by scheduled weekend Seminar's held by Don Brindley in Ocala & Jacksonville.
Also, Don reported that membership for our Division is down by about 20 members.
Don reported that the Governor has signed bill 2836. This bill addresses the confusion on pool bonding requiring a #8 bonding loop be installed around the pool until the board can determine alternatives.
Don Brindley won the 50/50 drawing. Congratulations to Don.
The next meeting will be held at the “Golden Corral” Restaurant in Palatka at 12:00 noon August 1, 2007.
