Jimmy Douglas called the meeting to order on September 5, 2007 at the Golden Corral Restaurant in Palatka at 12:00 PM. John Griffin led us in Prayer & the Pledge.

Present at the meeting were: Dallas Stratton, Jimmy Douglas, Edwin Garcia, Don Brindley, Mark Nechvatal, Jim Lindahl, Fernando Gonzalez, Joff Filion, Greg Ferrone, Danny Padgett, Duane Preston, Andrew Schirmacher, John Griffin, Taylor Sams, Charles Crain, Ron Rowe, Phil Dunnington, Dwight Wilkes, and Alan L Waters.

Treasury Report: Dallas Stratton reported that all bills are paid and we are solvent.

Old Business: Andrew Schirmacher presented a letter from Generac showing the new clearance dimensions for their air-cooled products. Also showed pictures of a generator installed poorly.

Dwight Wilkes informed us that the FBC have completed the wording for the mandatory installation of carbon monoxide protectors and that this information should be available on their web-site near the end of the month.

John Griffon brought up the “Kirk Key” option for the installation of generators. Most Counties agreed that if the “Switchboard” is listed for the use it would be accepted. Note… We have not seen a Panelboard that is listed for the use. St. Johns County said they are working with UL to become more knowledgeable on this system and would pass along information as they get it.

New Business: Don Brindley announced that he would hold some CEU classes for ECM sponsorship; 2 Hours for Laws & Rules- 2 Hours for ADA and 2 Hours for False Alarms. If you need some credit hours contact Don.

Dwight Wilkes told us that the Federal Government has a Bill # 2231 that has a wide range energy code and once adopted the code would have a trickle down effect to the State levels. If this concerns you, you should contact you representative.

Due to events the monthly meeting minutes for June have been lost; I have been trying to recreate these over the last couple of months with no success. A motion was made and seconded that we should skip the June Minutes and move on. I’m sure that the usual member where in attendance and they probably discussed generators, Kirk Keys and/or swimming pools.

Several people discussed the State Conference upcoming and the need for volunteers, sponsors, Etc. Please contact Dallas Stratton if you can help. Nothing is too small.

Education & Membership: Don Brindley discussed changes to the 2008 NEC for approximately ˝ an hour, reading from the NEC Digest.

The next meeting will be held at the “Golden Corral” Restaurant in Palatka at 12:00 noon October 3, 2007.
