January 1st, 2008 is fast approaching.

The 2005 NEC contains two provisions that take effect on January 1st. Section 410.73(G) regarding the disconnecting means at certain luminaires and section 210.12(B) regarding the implementation of combination-type AFCI breakers in lieu of the branch/feeder-type currently on the market.

Be sure to remind your inspector members and local contractors of these two important changes soon to take effect so that all can make preparations for a smooth transition.
