Minutes of the November 21, 2007 Meeting

The November meeting of the Gulf Coast Division was called to order by the President Mark Deegan. There were 22 members and guests present.

The Treasurer’s report was approved as read.

The minutes were approved as written.

Committee reports followed. I gave the secretaries report. I told everyone that I have given all the seminar material, including the IAEI Code Analysis books we have ordered for our seminar, and the secretary’s material I had, to Bryan Holland. This will be my last meeting as Secretary. I will be retiring December 19th. Bill Pancake reported on the DBPR policies regarding licensing and inspector requirements. DPBR is considering eliminating the reciprocity between ECLB and the CILB.

Jim Kenna told us that Traci Hall will be at our December meeting to give a presentation on swimming pool safety. Sesco Lighting will be at the February meeting.

Bill Szarowicz and Brandon Batzler from Briggs and Stratton were present at our meeting today, and gave a presentation on their home generator systems. They informed us about both the Empower series and the Intelligen series which is computer controlled. They gave a history of Briggs and Stratton. We also discussed the sizes of generators which are offered by their company. The Briggs and Stratton load control system was discussed. Brandon went through the wiring of the transfer switches, generators and controls.

This presentation was followed by the nomination of officers for 2008 and the executive committee. The nominees were as follows: President – Jim Anderson, 1st Vice President – Bus Keefer, 2nd Vice President – Jim Johnson, Secretary – Bryan Holland, and Treasurer – Mike Looney. The executive committee nominees were: Gregg Brown, Mark Deegan, Tom Lasprogato, Jim Kenna, and Joe Schneeberger.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:00 P.M.
