Jimmy Douglas called the meeting to order on December 5, 2007 at the Golden Corral Restaurant in Palatka at 12:00 PM. John Griffin led us in Prayer & the Pledge.

Present at the meeting were: Dallas Stratton, John Griffin, Phil Dunnington, Don Schlueter, Charlie Mini, Wayne Zeigler, Robert Marvel, Taylor Sams, Glen Brown, Dwight Wilkes, Jimmy Douglas, Andrew Schirmacher, Mark Nechvatal, Don Brindley, Joff Filion, Edwin Garcia, Ron Rowe, Fernando Gonzalez, Luther Kennett, Mike Brooks, Patrick McQuiston, Jerry Hindman, Joe McGowen, and Alan L Waters.

Treasury Report: Dallas Stratton reported that all bills are paid and we are solvent.

Old Business: Don Brindley is currently ordering the 2008 code changes on Power Point.

Dallas Stratton announced he is struggling to get needed information for the upcoming seminar.

New Business: The North Florida Division is in charge of the May 2008 State Convention. This is a large undertaking, and Dallas Stratton has been working on this project for a while now. He is in need of committee chairpersons and volunteers willing to help, please contact Dallas @ (904)827-6836.

Don Brindley was presented with a plaque in honor of him sponsoring 31 members. Thanks Don.

Someone left a soft bound 2005 NEC book after the December meeting; the guys from St Johns Co have it. You can get it from Dwight or pick it up at the January meeting.

Announcement: Be aware of counterfeit Square D breakers, there are some 64,000 known units brought into the US, these are mostly 1 pole 20 amp. They look similar to the real breaker, Square “D” says to look for the Sq-D emblem molded into the side, this is the best way to determine the real breaker. The counterfeit units do not operate properly.
Also, UL has announced to be careful purchasing GFCI receptacles, there are some that are marked with incorrect UL numbers.

Education & Membership: Currently 185 Members.
Don is in the planning stages for the 2008 CEU classes, the preliminary dates are for Ocala in March and Jacksonville in April.
