In case you haven't seen this from the Building Officials Association of Florida or IAEI forum, Go here to see the News Report:

I am glad to see this issue is being investigated and corrected, however, I do wish when they make these reports that they insert a little buffer to scale things out to the big picture.

With over 400 jurisidictions and thousands of inspectors in the state of Florida, these types of incidences are going to happen. But I believe the far majority of building departments and inspectors are doing things the RIGHT way.

I certainly don't mean that they should down play the seriousness of this issue or sweep building department problems under the rug, but, it should also be stated that we have a heavily regulated industry, with many watch dog programs, and GOOD people and organizations (like Building Officials Association of Florida / IAEI) that work to make Florida the safest and best construction industry in the nation.
