Jimmy Douglas called the meeting to order on January 2, 2008 at the Golden Corral Restaurant in Palatka at 12:00 PM. John Griffin led us in Prayer & the Pledge.

Present at the meeting were: Dallas Stratton, John Griffin, Phil Dunnington, Glen Brown, Jimmy Douglas, Andrew Schirmacher, Mark Nechvatal, Don Brindley, Joff Filion, Edwin Garcia, Fernando Gonzalez, Will Walkup, Larry Cogburn, Charlie Grebe, Dennis King, Michael Tarpons and Ralph W. Johnson

Treasury Report: Dallas Stratton reported that all bills are paid and we are solvent.

Old Business: Don Brindley reported that the upcoming Code Classes will be March (Ocala) and April (Jacksonville) and then the State Conference in May.
Dallas Stratton announced that Don Schlueter sent out the information for the Table Tops and the rest of the mailings will be sent out very soon for the upcoming State Seminar.

New Business: The North Florida Division is in charge of the May 2008 State Convention. This is a large undertaking, and Dallas Stratton has been working on this project for a while now. He is in need of committee chairpersons and volunteers willing to help, please contact Dallas @ (904)827-6836.

Don Brindley reported that the BCAI will still recognize ECLB classes. He also reported that if you have the IAEI certifications, you must complete 24 hours of CEU training every 3 years and 8 hours of that must be on code changes.

Don also read an article out of the Bradenton Herald about Inspectors taking materials from job sites and receiving gifts from contractors and those things are illegal.


Education & Membership: Don discussed the printout from the I.O. showing that our division has 50 members whose dues are in arrears.

The next meeting will be held at the “Golden Corral” Restaurant in Palatka at 12:00 noon February 6, 2008.
