Meeting was called to order by present Jim Anderson at 12:30. We said a Pledge of the Legends to the Flag. We introduced ourselves and started the meeting.

The secretary’s and treasurer’s report were read and accepted. Committee reports were given. It was stated that Bill Pancake was elected to Code Panel 5 as a representative of the IAEI. Bennett Rosenberg said the ECF was having a golf tournament on May 16th. Tom Lasprogato reminded us that the IAEI was having a Florida State meeting in Jacksonville on May 7th to 10th. Bill Pancake said he could give CEU classes on non-technical subjects at our regular meetings. It was stated that may increase our membership.

Bryan Holland sent e-mail to all members concerning carbon monoxide alarms. They will be required on permits issued after July 1 under certain circumstances. They will be required outside sleeping areas.

In new business, we talked about licensed contractors are required for all low voltage wiring.

Guest speakers were Jim Rex and Melissa Weston, from Solar Source Inc. They are a company that specializes in all types of solar equipment and they are the largest company in the state. They were established in 1984. They have over 1500 residential and 25 commercial installations. They passed around a sample solar panel. They also run schools for inspectors and contractors in Largo, Fl. Melissa handed out informative solar literature. They stated that a 3’ by 5’ panel will produce 175 dc watts. Federal and state rebates were discussed. This was followed by a lively question and answer session. We thanked Jim and Melissa for a very informative presentation.
On code discussion, residential dishwasher disconnects were mentioned.

The president closed the meeting at 2:00 PM

The next meeting will be held April 16th, 2008.
