Jimmy Douglas called the meeting to order on July 2, 2008 at the Golden Corral Restaurant in Palatka at 12:00 PM. John Griffin led us in Prayer & the Pledge.

Present at the meeting were: Dallas Stratton, Jimmy Douglas, Robert Marvel, Don Schlueter, Richard Davis, Fernando Gonzalez, Ron Rowe, Phil Dunnington, Dwight Wilkes, Jim Lindahl, Greg Ferrone, Charles Grebe, and Wes Colley

A motion was made to defer last months and this month’s minutes. It was seconded. The motion carried.

Treasury Report: Dallas Stratton reported that all bills are paid and we are solvent. He also explained that the monies donated by Cogburn Bros. helped us break even for the seminar. Thank you again to Larry Cogburn and his people! A motion made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s report and pay all bills. A second was made. The motion carried.

Old Business: Phil Dunnington brought a copy of the panel schedule he discussed last month and passed it around.

Dwight Wilkes provided a report on the Electrical TAC Committee. A vote for approving the 2008 NEC was denied.

There was discussion about installation of new officers and it was decide to postpone the installation of new officers until next month when Don Brindley returned.

New Business: Dallas Stratton suggested that our division send flowers for the loss of Joff Filion’s wife. Motion was made and seconded. The motion was passed. We send our condolences to Joff and his family.

There was discussion on the recall of a Firex brand combination Smoke/ C.O detector. There was also discussion on when and where to mount the C.O. detectors and when there where additions to an existing dwelling how to handle the different situations regarding that.

It was mentioned about a new requirement that might allow pools to not have to be filled before the final inspection.

Talked about I.C. rated recess cans where the manufacturer’s recommendations wants to keep insulation away from the top of recess cans by at least ½ inch.

Education & Membership:
August- Tom McDonald with APT will discuss surge protection.

September- Generac


The next meeting will be held at the “Golden Corral” Restaurant in Palatka at 12:00 noon August 6, 2008.
