It gets complicated.The eclb has stated that an electrician may act as the prime contractor on any job within his licensure. an er-ec-es-or et may erect any sign or billboard or do the construction on a pedistal sign. Yes I said billboard, on big poles up high in the sky. An example, when I was contracting I did all the steel and concrete work for structural pole basses for area lighting. Its not rocket science to an electrician. Normally an es or et may not run power wireing to the sign. But they may build the complete service for a billboard. The instalation of a non-electric sign is not regulated by the eclb and therefor may be done by anyone with out a license.
