Robert Marvel called the meeting to order on September 3, 2008 at the Golden Corral Restaurant in Palatka at 12:00 PM. John Griffin led us in Prayer & the Pledge.

Present at the meeting were:
Dallas Stratton, Jimmy Douglas, Robert Marvel, Richard Davis, Phil Dunnington, Dwight Wilkes, Wes Colley, Charles Crain, Susan Knopf, Don Brindley, Donald Schlueter, John Griffin, Edwin Garcia, Ron Rowe, Joff Filion, Taylor Sams, Danny Padgett, Randy Leonard, Troy Squire, and Alan L Waters

A motion was made to accept last month’s minutes as written, it was seconded. The motion carried.

Treasury Report:
Dallas Stratton reported that all bills are paid and we are solvent. A motion was made to approve the Treasurer’s report and pay all bills. A second was made. The motion carried.

Old Business: The State of Florida adoption of the 2008 NEC is still in question. Many home builders are urging their employees, electrical contractors and other trade contractors to appear at the October 14 Electrical TAC meeting to speak out against the adoption of the 2008 NEC.

Why: To address public comments associated with implementing the 2008 NEC
New Business: A motion was made and seconded that a letter be sent to the IAEI board of directors showing our that our Division support of the cooperative CEU classes between the IAEI and the Building Officials Association of Florida.

Education & Membership: Currently we have 138 members.

Troy Squire with Generac gave us a presentation on stand-by generators.

The next meeting will be held at the “Golden Corral” Restaurant in Palatka at 12:00 noon October 1, 2008.
