Regular Meeting: (September 17, 2008)

The September meeting of the Gulf Coast Division was called to order by the President Jim Anderson at 12:30 PM. There were 26 members and guests present.
Treasurer Mike Looney gave the Treasury Report which was approved as written.
The minutes of the July meeting were approved as written. (There was no August Meeting due to Tropical Storm Fay)

Secretary Bryan Holland was unable to attend due to a family matter. Past President, Mark Deegan sat in to take the minutes of this months meeting. Mark gave a brief update and Division notes as provided to him by Secretary Holland.

Under Committee Reports:

ECF representative Wes Colley was present to give an update on Electrical Council of Florida matters occurring around the state.

Under Old Business:

Joe Schneeberger announced that Ben Cotroneo and Pete Pluta would be present at an upcoming meeting. We always look forward to seeing our two good friends.

Under New Business:

President Jim Anderson gave a short briefing on new lighting requirements for commercial occupancies. Jim also commented on the recent IAEI magazine article on photovoltaic systems and a discussion on ground rods.

Following all business and code discussion, Special Guest, Ed Roberts gave a 1-HR presentation on Lightning, Grounding, Bonding, and Surge Protection.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:00 PM. The next meeting will be October 15th, 2008.
