Has it ever been considered to add a required "permit tech" license under the BCAI board?

What are your opinions on this matter? Do you feel a permit tech license is needed?

Please explain.

Thanks

I would say no but I would be out voted by those people who sell CEUs.

In NC permit techs are required to take the 16 hour "Law & Administration" course and exam.

Very interesting. ICC has an exam, and it looks rather comprehensive. Kind-of a mini CBO exam from the looks of it.

Thanks for the comments.

It is a growing trend to require permit techs to become cerified. There are even a few ICC Chapters around the US for permit techs. A good knowledgeable permit tech staff at the front counter usually is a blessing for the department.

Thank you Bryan, I was very blessed to be able to find work.

I have ended up in Herndon, VA outside of the DC area working for a national non profit organization doing what I have always really enjoyed the most in my career, developing training curriculum on codes and instructing in various locations throughout the US.
