IAEI Treasure Coast Chapter Meeting

President Bryant Harrison called the meeting to order at 4:10pm. Bryant recognized past President Joe Ferreira for all his hard work and dedication to re-organizing the Treasure Coast Division and holding the office for the past years.

A roll call of officers was taken

Secretary Vince Della Croce made a motion to accept the minutes from the December meeting as emailed. The motion was seconded and accepted.

Treasurer Tom Haldane reported the division was solvent.

Old business:
*Code Change Seminar: Vince Della Croce reported that the seminar will now be a joint effort of the Treasure Coast and Palm Beach divisions. The location will most likely be in Jupiter as this is central to most. The date is still undecided, but most likely in the May or June timeframe. John Minick will be the instructor. Discussion followed as to cost for IAEI members, non members and students.

New business:
*Martin County update: Scott Behun reminded all that as of March 1st, 2009 open trench inspections will be required for underground installations.
*City of Port St. Lucie update: Joe Ferreira reminded all that older open permits with inspections pending should be addressed as soon as possible.
*Florida BOD meeting: Vince Della Croce updated all on the recent BOD meeting held in Altamonte Springs. Vince also reminded the group of the upcoming annual meeting in Destin, FL set for May 6-9.
*Bryant Harrison: Bryant handed out copies of FBC 13-413,414 & 415 and reviewed each section. Special attention was paid to 13-415 which deals with lighting and its automatic control in some buildings.

Open discussion:
*Numerous questions were submitted prior to the meeting and reviewed. Smoke detector & carbon monoxide placement, 310.15(b)(6) and 210.12(b) of the 2009 NEC were all topics of discussion.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:40pm
