President Bryant Harrison called the meeting to order at 4:05pm

Roll call of officers was taken by Secretary Vince Della Croce

A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes from the February meeting as emailed.

Treasurer Tom Haldane reported the division was solvent

Tom Strohm and Larry Trefz from Tamlite USA were introduced. They spoke concerning Tamlite’s relationship with City Electric Supply and the company’s manufacturing and distribution operations. HID fixtures were discussed at length and their compliance with the energy codes. It was noted that as of Jan. 1, pulse start type ballasts will be required on all new fixtures. However, manufacturers will be allowed to sell off remaining inventories after that date of probe type ballasts. Probe type retrofit kits will still be available.

Old business:
Tom Haldane made a motion and it was seconded that the Treasure Coast Division sponsor a luncheon at the upcoming Chapter meeting in May at a cost of $250.
Scott Bruhn from Martin County reminded all of open trench inspections being required as of April 1st.
Joe Ferreira from the City of Port Saint Lucie had no report
Gary Gerstemeier from Okeechobee County provided a handout concerning the counties fees and licensing

New business:
Joe Ferreira mentioned that the Palm Beach County Divison would be hosting a 2 hour CUE course on photovoltaic systems on March 17th from 3-5pm
Vince Della Croce informed all that fellow member Frank Lombardozzi had recently injured himself from a fall from a ladder.

Guest speaker: Vice President Terry Bruton presented part 1 of his power point presentation concerning pools and fountains and Articcle 680. To be continued at next months meeting.
