Regular Meeting: (April 15, 2009)

The March meeting of the Gulf Coast Division was called to order by the President Bud Keefer. There were 28 members and guests present. Following introductions and the Pledge of Allegiance, Treasurer Mike Looney reported on the status of finances and Secretary Bryan Holland gave an update on IAEI business. The minutes of the March Meeting were approved as written.
Under Committee Reports:
Bryan Holland gave an education update. The membership and Executive Board agreed to a June 20th seminar date with the subject matter on photovoltaics. More details will be provided at next months meeting. Tommy Lasprogato gave an update on the State Chapter Meeting to be held in May. Bennett Rosenberger provided the April 30th ECF meeting information and Wes Colley advised the membership that ECF membership could now be paid in three installments.
Under Old Business:
Gregg Brown gave a brief update on the Charlotte County Journeyman Licensing issue.
Under New Business:
A brief discussion on what the scope of work is permitted under a licensed Solar PV contractor, specifically on the electrical components and structures aspects of the installations. A question was raised on the matter of electrical shock and plastic / PVC docks. A brief discussion followed.
Following all meeting business, Secretary Bryan Holland gave a 1-hr presentation on Article 500, Hazardous (Classified) Locations.
Meeting was adjoined at 2:00 PM. Our next meeting will be May 20th, 2009.
