IAEI of the FLORIDA CHAPTER - SOUTHERN SECTION

The regular monthly meeting of the Suncoast Division-IAEI will be on Thursday 11 march 2010, 130pm, at TECO Western Operations Center, 5401 West Sligh Avenue, Tampa FL.

This is about 1.5 miles north of the TIA northern property boundary. Exit Hillsborough Avenue to the North on Hoover Blvd. (across from the TIA freight and express loading entrance). Hoover Blvd. becomes Anderson Road and then comes to West Sligh Avenue. Turn left on West Sligh and TECO Western is just adjacent to the 7-11 property.

- Regular business will ensue.
- New business will be addressed as it arises.
- The 80th Annual Florida Chapter meeting committee will give its up to date report and status of the meeting. THIS COMMITTEE IS DIRECTED TO MEET AT NOON AT THE PERKINS RESTAURANT about 1.5 miles north on Anderson at the SW corner of the intersection with West Waters Avenue.
- NECode questions will be entertained and addressed.
- The Division has lost one of its founding members from way back in 1983. Robert (Bob) Skolmowski, of All Electric Services Company passed away on 02/28. A moment of silent prayer for Bob will be given at the meeting.

Remember to get your NECode questions for the 80th Annual Meeting submitted to the Secretary. Also remember that if you have a question that genuinely needs answered, that the question cannot be considered to be a dumb or stupid question. Some times we lose sight of the fact that not every person has the same understanding of the Codes as the other. Historically over the years I have heard many times comments, especially by inspectors, that the question was too simple, dumb, stupid or not revelant. Yet this same person doing the criticising asked almost verbatim the same question(s) upon becoming an inspector.

03/18/10 530pm Tampa ECF at American Legion, 3813 Bay Vista Ave., Tampa.

03/27/10 800am REGISTRATION FOR THE GROUNDING SEMINAR. The speakers will be
Mark Ode of UL and John Minick of NEMA. Cost is $ 80 per person. Seating is
limited to 50 persons. Advance reservations and registrations are now at 38
persons. There will be coffee and Danish in the morning. Sandwiches will be
served at lunch time. This course is ECLB approved for 8 CE hours.

04/08/10 130pm Suncoast Division at Queen of Peace Hall, just North of downtown in
New Port Richey and just West of the Pasco County Historical Society Bldg.

05/05/10 Noon Registration starts at the downtown Tampa Sheraton Riverwalk Hotel for
the 80th Florida Chapter IAEI Annual meeting. The Chapter BOD meets at
200pm. Vendors will have access to set up their booths. The meeting kicks off
of Thursday morning and runs until Noon on Saturday 05/08.

Holiday FL.

06/10/10 130pm Suncoast Division, TECO Western Operations Center.

07/08/10 130pm Suncoast Division, Advance Protection Technologies, 14550 58th St. N.
Clearwater FL 33760. This is north of Ulmerton Road and there is a traffic light
on Ulmerton at 58th St. N. There will be a short business meeting, after which
APT will give demonstrations of surge arresting.

08/12/10 130pm Suncoast Division, City of Safety Harbor Council Chambers, 750 Main
St., Safety Harbor.

09/09/10 130pm Suncoast Division, TECO Western Operations.

10/10-13/10 Southern Section Meeting at Savannah GA.

10/14/10 130pm Suncoast Division. A MEETING SITE HAS NOT YET BEEN SECURED.

the 1st week of the month, because Veterans Day Holiday falls on the 2nd
Thursday of the month.

Come to the Division and other IAEI Meetings. you do not have to be a member to participate, although we will twist your arm to become one. Support your Officers and the electrical industry. Become active in this ever changing and exciting electrical industry.

The current issue of the "IAEI NEWS" has a great article about roof top solar power arrays. It also has a super article about "stray currents" with particular reference to the agricultural and live stock industries.
