Bryan:
Is this the recently completed Burj Dubai in the U.A.E.? I wonder if their Lightning Protection System complies with NFPA 780 and UL 96A. I'd love to see how they ran the down conductors.

Yes, that is the building.

The NFPA 780 is primarily used in the US only. From the research I have done, U.A.E. utilizes the IEC 62305 standard for lightning protection. This is an extremely comprehensive and extensive 5 volume standard. From what I understand, the NFPA is planning on incorporating much of it into the NFPA 780 in future editions.
