Florida Chapter
Gulf Coast Division
Regular Meeting: (March, 2010)
Bryan Holland, Secretary
The March meeting of the Gulf Coast Division was called to order by President Robert Romano. Secretary Bryan Holland updated the attendees on total membership for the Division and Chapter and reminded everyone of the IAEI 1&2 Family Electrical Book sale. An agenda for the 80th Annual Chapter Meeting and Seminar was distributed to the attendees. The Secretary asked all attendees to submit questions to him by next meeting to be submitted to the code panelist at the Chapter Meeting in May.
Under committee reports, it was noted the Division Grounding and Bonding Seminar will be delayed until June or July. Jim Kenna announced the next meeting guest speaker and presentation. Updates and news from the Electrical Council of Florida were also announced.
Under New Business, Joe Schneeberger advised the attendees of a few good articles in the most recent IAEI magazine concerning PV systems. While on the topic, Robert Romano opened a question on disconnecting means for micro-inverters for PV systems.
Following new business, a discussion was opened regarding a handout of dwelling outlet requirements per the 2008 NEC. The Division plans to publish a regional “guideline” for the installation of AFCI, GFCI, WR, and TR type devices and circuits. The discussion was tabled until next month so the attendees could work up questions and revisions to the document.
Meeting was adjoined at 2:00 PM. Our next meeting will be held on April 21, 2010.
Respectfully Submitted,
Bryan Holland, Secretary
