Florida Chapter
Gulf Coast Division
Regular Meeting: (April, 2010)
Bryan Holland, Secretary
The April meeting of the Gulf Coast Division was called to order by President Robert Romano. Secretary Bryan Holland updated the attendees on total membership for the Division and upcoming dates to remember. The secretary then provided the attendees information on some upcoming educational opportunities and recent rulings at DBPR meetings.
Under committee reports, Jim Kenna announced the next meeting guest speaker and presentation. Updates and news from the Electrical Council of Florida were also announced. Two new product information sheets were distributed to the attendees.
Under Old Business, Joe Schneeberger requested some information on required CEU classes and if training could be provided by the Division. A discussion was reintroduced on the formation of a Solar PV committee. It was agreed that any Solar PV news could be discussed at any future meeting under new business. Under New Business, a question was raised regarding afci protection of dining circuits even though they are required to be on a small appliance branch circuit. It was agreed that afci protection is required for dining rooms per 210.12(B). A brief discussion also occurred regarding cold water bonding in dwellings with metallic water piping.
Following business, a presentation was given by Kevin Morgan of Citrus County. Kevin gave an overview of requirements for classified locations and sewer lift stations. A handout was provided and a lengthy question and answer session followed.
32 Members and Guest were present for the meeting.
Meeting was adjoined at 2:30 PM. Our next meeting will be held on May 19, 2010.
Respectfully Submitted,
Bryan Holland, Secretary
