1. The IEC and Hillsborough Community College have entered into an agreement that will award Apprentices college credit towards an Associate of Science degree.
2. Don’t forget your CEU’s. On August 23rd, Dick Widera will be conducting a three-hour class to cover the business, workers compensation and OSHA hours as required by the ECLB. The cost will be around $35.00 to $40.00. More details to be announced.
3. This August, a seminar has been tentatively scheduled with James Stallcup as the instructor. A flyer will be mailed out soon.
4. DPBR: Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board- Senate Bill 220 recognizes Building Code Enforcement Officials employed by local jurisdictions in the state as having police powers similar to law enforcement personnel, correctional officers and fire fighters in the state, while in the execution of their duties of enforcing state building codes. The laws and rules will be updated by July 1 with regards to this new legislation.
5. All other issues as deemed necessary to discuss.
6. All members are asked to bring another member, inspector, contractor or guest. The Suncoast Division encourages its member’s participation and if there is someone who has not been regularly attending, grab him and bring him down to the next meeting. We look forward to seeing everyone.
