Today is a sad day for the Florida Gulf Coast Division. We have received word that are long-time friend and dedicated IAEI member, Joe Schneeberger passed away this past Friday. Below is a posting of his obituary in the Sarasota Herald Tribune this morning.

Joseph A. Schneeberger, 79, of Englewood died Sept. 10, 2010.
Services will be at a later date.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Barbara of Englewood; daughter Lorraine of North Port; extended family members; and many dear friends.
He was born to Geraldine and Joseph Schneeberger of Bronx, N.Y. After high school he became a licensed electrical contractor at age 22. On April 28, 1957, Joe married Barbara Gordineer of Shrub Oak, N.Y., and four years later built his first home in Baldwin Place, N.Y. He had an electrical business in New York for 28 years.
In 1981, Joe moved to Florida, living in Sarasota before moving to Englewood. He built and sold many homes in the Leesburg area and in 1989 became a licensed real estate broker. A member of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors since 1953, he formed two IAEI divisions, both in New York and the Florida Gulf Coast Division here. In 2008, he received a recognition award in Jacksonville for 55 years of IAEI membership.
Joe enjoyed making everyone around him laugh, telling old family stories, reading and helping his "favorite daughter" with projects both large and small. He was the best father in the world and a devoted husband. He was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Raphael Catholic Church in Englewood.
