Tribute to Joseph A. Schneeberger

On September 10, our founding member and good friend, Joe Schneeberger passed away. Joe was a member of the IAEI for 57 years and served as the first secretary and treasurer of the Florida Gulf Coast Division.

To honor our friend and to celebrate his dedicated service to our association, the September meeting was designated as a “Tribute to Joe.” All regular business was suspended and the program cancelled. Each member was given an opportunity to share their stories about Joe and express their condolences. The messages of members and friends unable to attend the meeting were read aloud to the attendees.

A picture slide-show of Joe was displayed to the attendees. Following the presentation, Joe’s daughter, Lorraine, made a few statements about Joe and what this association meant to him.

A discussion was opened by member Tommy Lasprogato on the amending of the Division name to include the founding charter member of 57 years, Joseph A. Schneeberger who passed away on September 10, 2010.

A motion was made by member Bernard Keefer to amend the name as follows. The motion was seconded by member Mark Deegan. The membership unanimously approved the motion.

This organization shall be known as the Joseph A. Schneeberger / Florida Gulf Coast Division, of the Florida Chapter, Southern Section, International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI).

A petition to amend the Division name has been submitted to the Florida Chapter and Southern Section.

Meeting was adjoined at 2:00 PM. Our next meeting will be held on October 20, 2010.
