The Suncoast Division IAEI is meeting this November on the 1st thursday of the month. This is because the Veterans Day Holiday falls on the 2nd thursday. The time is 130pm at the Holiday Recreation Center, 2830 Gulf Trace Blvd., Holiday FL 34691.
Regular business will be conducted. Neal Burdick gave a presentation last month at the City of Safety Harbor on 2011 NECode changes. In order to give him as much time as possible all regular business was laid over to the November meeting.
To be discussed at the 12/11/10 and 03/05/11 8 hour CE seminars. Jeff Fecteau of UL will be giving the 12/11/10 seminar and Mark Ode of UL will be giving the 03/05/11 seminar.
All persons from the electrical and building construction communities are encouraged to attend these two events. The interaction and networking are definitely an advantage over the rote taking of an online CE course. It is difficult to ask a computer in an online course how to keep the smoke in a motor so that there is not a problem. At a face to face seminar, one can always get a good explanation of why this is critical to motor operation. Obviously if you see smoke around a motor, than the implication is that there is a NECode problem.
Does your attendance count at Florida Chapter IAEI and it's Divisions sponsored seminars. Absolutely it does. If nothing else we professionals in the industry can build concensus opinions on a one by one basis. Fairly soon all the one by one processes tally to a sizeable number and influence.
Respectfully from,
Dick Widera
Secretary
Suncoast Division IAEI
