Regular Meeting: (November 2010)

The November meeting of the Gulf Coast Division was called to order by President Robert Romano. Robert welcomed the Building Officials Association of Florida Gulf Coast Chapter present for today’s joint meeting with the IAEI. Secretary Bryan Holland gave a news and business update and the dates of upcoming important events. Mike Looney gave a Treasurer’s report and updated the membership on the association’s financial status.

Robert Romano welcomed the Florida Chapter President, Nelson Montgomery. Nelson updated the members present on Chapter events and news and discussed some important industry topics.

Under committee reports, Tommy Lasprogato gave an update on the 2014 Chapter Meeting Committee. Bennett Rosenberger announced an Edison Chapter Christmas Party to be held in Fort Myers. Paul Chimene of FPL gave an update on solar PV installations in the state of Florida. There are currently 917 residential and 23 commercial interactive PV systems in operation here in Florida. Paul also notified the members present about ongoing training for first responders and PV safety.

Steve Dale of the NLVCA gave a presentation on limited energy licensing and permitting laws in the State of Florida. A handout and lengthy Q&A session followed.

Meeting was adjoined at 2:00 PM. Our next meeting will be a joint meeting with the Building Officials Association of Florida Gulf Coast Chapter and will held on December 15, 2010.
