Regular Meeting: (February 2011)

The February meeting of the Florida Gulf Coast Division was called to order by President Robert Romano. Secretary Bryan Holland gave a report on IAEI news and business. Senate Bill 396, including changes to the Home Inspector Licensing Laws, changes to UL676 marking of underwater luminaires, and the dates of upcoming BCAIB, CILB, ECLB, and FBC meetings were announced.

The Secretary announced that plans for the Division’s annual seminar are being made. A 2011 NEC code change class is being considered. Tommy Lasprogato gave a report on the memorial services held for Barbara Schneeberger on February 15th. Tommy also updated the membership on the status of Billy Nally, Jim Kenna, and Tarry Baker. Both Mike Looney and Mark Deegan are caring for an ill parent and could not be present at the meeting. Bennett Rosenberger of the ECF Edison Chapter announced a meeting to be held on March 3rd and another “shooting range” event scheduled for April 1st. Notices will be sent out shortly.

Following all business, the installation of the 2011 Officers took place. Following in the installation, President David Engelhart took control of the meeting and gave a brief welcome statement.

This month’s presentation was given by Jamie Johnson of Solar Power Electric. Jamie updated the members on new products and technologies occurring in the industry. Products such as Solar Metering, Roof Flashing, Micro-inverters, Integrated Rail-Mounting Systems, and 400W Modules were displayed and discussed. A question and answer session followed.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:00 PM. Our next meeting will be held on March 16, 2011.
